Dear parents, teachers, and students,

The fall semester of St. Louis Chinese Language School (STLCLS) is just around the corner! Early bird registration without fees will begin on Monday, August 5th, and the early bird discount will end on August 22nd. Open house on Sunday, August 18th, at 3-5 PM. The official start date for classes is Sunday, August 25th, at 1:45 PM.

This upcoming semester promises new opportunities and fresh beginnings. In our Chinese department, we've carefully prepared classes for K-12 students, including both simplified Chinese and bilingual classes. Additionally, we're excited to offer adult bilingual classes for those interested in learning spoken and written Chinese. Our experienced teaching team, including Shen Wang, Dan Zhang, Yu Wang, Lihua Zhao, Ningxiu Wang, Xinxin Lu, Baoqing Sun, Haihong Liu, Jifeng Che, Lei Zhang, Ee Ling Sea, Jianping Li, and others, will continue to serve the school. We're also welcoming new teachers such as Peizhen Yang, Sainan Li, Lizhu Zhang, Pei Bing Tan, Hong Du, and Shouyan Tang. Let's give them a warm welcome!

In addition, this semester, we're introducing a new AP Chinese class taught by the experienced Baoqing Sun. The AP Chinese course not only enhances students' language abilities but also helps them better understand and appreciate Chinese culture.

Our Youth Talent Department offers a diverse range of courses for the fall semester. New additions include Qixin Shuai's Introduction to Business, Jessie's JAVA programming class, and Austin Adams‘ Voice Acting for Film and TV. We're also continuing popular courses from last semester, such as Alex's drawing class, Zhou Xiaobo's elementary math competition class, Liao Tao's public speaking podcast, the He siblings' children's chess classes, Joe's logic and programming, and much more.

For those interested in traditional culture, our youth lion dance team has been making waves in St. Louis for years. We invite middle and high school students who have stage performance experience and want to accumulate volunteer hours to join our lion dance team. Even if you're not taking Chinese classes, you can still sign up for talent courses that interest you. At our Chinese school, kids can learn new skills while making friends and enjoying Sunday afternoons together.

Our adult department introduces exciting new courses this semester, including Liu Sun's watercolor class, Xie Yan's Tai Chi Eight Methods, Judy Zhao‘s Chen Style Tai Chi Fan, and Liao Subo's Tai Chi Push Hands. We're also continuing our existing adult talent courses, such as Shen Na's vocal class (with in-person sessions this semester), Lu Zhi's intermediate and advanced photography classes, Liu Sun's ink landscape painting, Tian Jing's fitness dance, Latin dance, and yoga, Hu Chunyu's square dance, He Jiangying's classical dance, Xie Yan's Tai Chi for health, and Judy Zhao's Wudang Tai Chi Sword. Over the years, our photography, Chinese painting, and Tai Chi courses have become some of the best series training programs in Chinese schools across the United States.

Don't miss out on our unique adult badminton class at STLCLS this semester! And if the existing courses don't quite meet your needs, stay tuned—we're always considering new additions.

STLCLS is committed to providing high-quality Chinese language and talent education to all students, including those from low-income families. To ensure this goal, we've established a tuition reduction policy for the semester. Details can be found here: [Tuition Reduction Policy](https://bit.ly/4az01SL ).

Our Chinese Fellowship at Efree Church hosts two weekly events:

1. **Faith and Life Discussions**: These free sessions provide an opportunity for parents to explore the meaning of life. Topics cover work, life, and finding help during difficult times. It's a relaxed and down-to-earth setting where experienced speakers share their life insights.

2. **Parenting and Adolescent Mental Health Classes**: These new classes discuss the challenges of child growth and the complexities of adolescence. Parents can learn how to turn crises into opportunities and strengthen family relationships. Join us for insightful discussions on parenting!

Efree Chinese Fellowship members have generously helped us find our school location, and it's essential that we all take care of the facilities. A special reminder to parent volunteers on duty: please help maintain classroom cleanliness and order. Parents of children attending Chinese classes, please select a duty date in your account.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions: stlcls@stlcls.org or call 314-325-6971 (text messages preferred).

Thank you, and see you on Sunday, August 25th, at 1:30 PM at Efree!

Best regards,
