羽毛球俱樂部

一. 恭喜康巴能, 黃晟, 黃聰, 鄧德敏, 和王大偉被選入Wilson青少年羽毛球隊.

二. 恭喜黃晟和王大偉平日勤練, 二月十一日在芝加哥百人羽毛球賽中一顯身手, 黃晟是十五歲男生組單打的亞軍和十九歲男生雙打組的冠軍. 王大偉是十九歲男生雙打組的冠軍.

James won 2^nd place U15 BS and 1^st place U19BD. David won 2^nd place U19BD.

Badminton Club:

1) Congratulations to Gannon Kang Butler, James & Michael Huang, Clare Tang and David Wang. They were selected to be sponsored by Wilson Jr. Badminton.

2) Congratulations to James Huang and David Wang who competed with 100 Jr. players in the Wilson Midwest Jr. Badminton Tournament in Chicago during the weekend of 2-11. They both worked hard and achieved great results.

舞獅, 舞龍隊

舞獅, 舞龍隊應Parkway Barretts小學家長會邀請, 在二月二十一日晚上表演了兩場. 學校謝謝所有隊員和家長的参與.

Lion & Dragon Dances Club

Lion & Dragon Dances were invited to perform twice on Wed. evening, 2-21 of the World Cultural Night at the Parkway Barretts Elementary School. School thanks all the parents and students for their participation.

對外講座

學校應東方圖書館邀請, 由胡校董主席、程寶珠教務主任和校長全家, 首度在東方圖書館雙語故事活動時, 穿挿介紹學校.

康校長介紹了年”的傳說後, 程教務主任告訴大家六十年才輪到”金”豬年. 校長和家長們返老還童, 帶著小孩子們玩簡單的童謠活動, 甚至猜了燈謎. 校長再簡要地用學校的網站介紹了學校概況, 並展示用英文教中文的外語班的教材. 之後, 校長和程教務主任回答問題, 校長家人輔助大伙兒玩扯鈴. 小孩子們隨興玩小獅頭面具, 胡校董主席忙著照相, 大家皆大歡喜.

Outside Presentation

For the first time, Lisa Hu, our Board Chair, Patricia Ling, Academic Director of the T & E tracks, Principal and her family introduced our school at the Asia Lib. Principal told the story of “Nian” and the Lantern Festival. Patricia educated everyone that the “Golden” pig year comes around every sixty years. Principal and the parents rejoiced their youth by playing some Chinese children’ rhyming games and even guessed a riddle. Principal used our school’s website to briefly introduce our programs. E-track’s teaching material is also on display. Principal and Patricia answered parents’ questions, while Principal’s family helped with the Chinese Yo-Yo activity. Children tried on the small lion masks. Lisa took photos. What fun.
